Our Purpose
The Marie Sandvik Center is a Non-profit ministry formed in 1948. We exist to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the marginalized. Persons who attend a chapel service are eligible to receive food, clothing, and hygiene items following the meeting.
The mission is supported solely by private donations from individuals, churches and grants. Everything that is distributed at the Marie Sandvik Center is given free of charge to anyone that comes to the Center.
With deep appreciation we thank everyone who gives and shares their time, talent and treasures with those who are less fortunate. Through the resources given by generous donors, we can distribute clothing, quilts, baby layettes, food, diapers, and financial help to thousands of people each year. This opens a wonderful door to share the Gospel message and God's love with each person that we help.
The mission is located on Franklin Avenue in the Phillips neighborhood of south Minneapolis. There is something going on at the center every day: evening church services, women's meetings, after school Bible clubs for children, Saturday Kids Club and special events like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We exist to first be a center that cares about people. Each person is important to us, and so we share the salvation story of Jesus along with the food and clothing we distribute. Our values are designed to ensure that anyone who comes to the Center is important.
